Add to that a poorly written script with some offensive humor, and you have a film that is definitely not worth your time. He made funny films in the past, but now his films are awful and tend to copy previous films, which make it uninteresting. It's clear that he relies on nothing more but his act to try and make you laugh, which isn't. I personally think he should have quit after Big Daddy and The Wedding Singer. The only thing that this film proves is how bad Adam Sandler is at comedy. This film was bad and it did not have anything funny to entertain you. Assembling a cast of mediocre actors except for John Torturro, Dennis Dugan directs a stupidity laced comedy that fails on every level. This guy stopped being funny a long time ago, and he's way past his prime. Pointless, extremely awful film that proves that once again Adam Sandler is one of the worst "comedians" out there. Sandler has made a career out of being a childish anti-hero, and this film, in the same vein as Mr. Just the sight of Zohan's 80s hairstyle evokes laughter. Whether or not you want to hear the message, the gags involving humus, incompetent terrorists, discount electronics, and a goat will have you laughing out loud. Inserted into the absurd jokes and ridiculous plot devices (Scrappy's satisfying the salon's aged female clientele) is an attempt at reconciliation between the Israelis and Palestinians. Sandler's brand of humor routinely goes for the most obvious joke, yet its still funny, and this film operates as more of a satire than his earlier work. "You Don't Mess with the Zohan" may be the comedian's greatest contribution to the pairing of slapstick comedy with a message. ta, ta.Adam Sandler's films progressed from purely sophomoric antics to social consciousness mixed into the hijinks. Stop choking up metacritic with your total BS. If they aren't, then the perpetrators have won b/c your spirit is not the kind worth saving. Try a little more humour and a little less embellishment specifically used to try and reinforce your views on events like 9/11 which were joke material - whether you like it or not - three years ago.
